IB Diploma Programme

The International Baccalaureate Organization recently released the May 2023 results, and
Mandela International Magnet School is proud to announce the strong performance of their
graduating seniors!


The following sixteen students earned the prestigious IB Diploma, demonstrating strong
academic performance in 6 areas (Language & Literature, Language Acquisition, History,
Experimental Sciences, Mathematics, and the Arts). In order to qualify for the Diploma, they
also wrote a 4,000 word independent research paper, completed a Theory of Knowledge
exhibition and paper, and demonstrated a focus on Creativity, Activity, and Service.

Randy Grillo, Mandela Principal, said, “All of our graduates engage in a rigorous course of study
focused on creating a better and more peaceful world, and they leave the IB program as
transformed people. I am inspired when I see the accomplishments of these students,
academically, within our community, and interpersonally. There is a great deal of hard work
involved in the Diploma Programme, and each of these Mandela Lions have taken that
challenge and emerged better human beings because of it. Congratulations!”
